official publication of preventive and social medicine Orissa chapter Journal of Community
Medicine (0973-2454), is the official scientific publication of
the
Indian Association of
preventive and Social Medicine, Orissa Chapter. It started in 2005 as Journal
of Community Medicine. The journal is published biannually at the
Department of Community Medicine, V.S.S Medical College, Burla,768017,
(Orissa) India. The journal was started in 2002
during the annual conference of the state branch of IAPSM at the Department
of Community Medicine, M.K.C.G.Medical College, BERHAMPUR-768017 (ORISSA),
INDIA under the active guidance of Prof. Trilochan Sahu, Prof. & Head of
that college. His constant inspiration and initiatives resulted in
publication of the next edition with the title “Journal of Community
Medicine” in January 2005 with Dr. Rama Chandra Giri as the editor of the
journal. In the Annual State Conference,
January 2005. at Brahmapur, the association selected Dr.S.C.Panda Assistant
Professor, V.S.S. Medical College as the editor of the journal and
empowered him to form the editorial board and formulate editorial policy. In July 2005 The journal of community
medicine (JCM) published articles on original research findings related to
current community health problems, issues, policies and programs of India and
the world at large. The journal invites original article,
short article on recent advances, clinical epidemiological diagnosis,
management, comments, review articles, correspondence, letter to editor,
field experience, success stories, lecture notes on issues of public
health importance for publication. July, the journal underwent a sea change
with a new editorial board; got its ISSN and has started its journey in the
